Just a taste...

Our tasting appointment has been booked - it's this Friiiiiiiday.

The four of us (Mr. P, me, best man/brother M and BM R) are very much looking forward to it. Having M (a Manhattan chef & caterer) on hand to provide culinary advice is beyond awesome. And I could not believe BM R had not participated in a tasting yet, given all her wedding experience. I think it's a great idea to have not just the bride and groom at the tasting but a foodie/friend whose opinion you trust.

So what's on the tasting menu?

Passed Hors D'oeuvres

- Indian chicken with mango chutney on a crisp potato wafer

source

- beef filet canape with artichoke puree, shaved Parmesan and arugula

source

- crostini with roasted garlic, goat cheese and roasted red pepper

source

- sesame crusted Japanese tuna on rice paper crisp with wasabi sour cream

source

- mini vegetable spring roll with sweet chili dipping sauce

source

Entrees

- herb sauteed boneless chicken breasts in rosemary sun-dried tomato cream sauce

source

- grilled filet of beef with red wine demi-glace

(source link dead)

- panko crusted rockfish with an herbed tomato concasser and jumbo grilled shrimp

source

- coulibiac of salmon with mushroom duxelle and spinach wrapped in puff pastry

You can bet I'm showing up hungry armed with my camera and a notepad.

The selections we've made are intentionally neither too adventurous or too bland. We want all of our guests, from the carnivores to veggie lovers, to love the reception food. It wouldn't be right for our biggest party to date to leave folks hungry. Mangia!

What type of food did you try at your tasting? Did you change the menu after the tasting? And any words of advice as we approach the day of gluttony?
