Rock Salt and Tin Foil

Whenever Mr. Pain au Chocolat catches me admiring my engagement ring, he teases, "It's only rock salt and tin foil." The joke is on him because my lovely has a new sparkly friend...

... my custom cross-over wedding band!

If you remember, I couldn't find any bands that paired well with my split-shank e-ring. And then I dreamed up a super ring that couldn't be found and our jeweler suggested going custom (for the same cost!).

Reunited and it feels so good! I'm pleased with how well it turned out. After reading about Mrs. Octo's wedding band, going custom had me a little concerned.

But I'm not the only one with new jewelry. Mr. P's 5mm "anything more is just too married" yellow gold band arrived too.

He wanted a timeless and simple band that would still look good with the patina of a few years of marriage. I think he chose wisely. What do you think hive? The domed shape is super comfortable and smooth; I may have slipped on his ring just to see.

What was your reaction when your wedding bands arrived? Did you and the object of your affection chose different styles?
